Dr. Vanstone has significant experience with experimental, numerical, and theoretical high-speed aerodynamics (both supersonic and hypersonic), ramjets, scramjets and next generation air breathing vehicles (SSTO), as well as experience in the large-scale facilities required to conduct these experiments. He also has substantial expertise in the design, manufacture, and testing of rockets and their associated systems, as well as the facilities required to test them. Dr. Vanstone also has extensive knowledge of the design, programming, and use of robotics and drones.

Dr. Vanstone also has a strong practical knowledge of systems engineering, the systems development lifecycle, failure analysis, and risk assessment. Furthermore, he has practical experience of the implementation of lean and agile methodologies, including scrums, sprints, kanban, SAFe, etc.
